His track record as a successful business owner and parent help ensure his ability to make the right decisions, and his dedication to coming through on his word will be a wonderful addition to the school board. It started when my son was 4 and I first became a coach with the Alachua Rec Center and continued throughout his school years in after school programs, soccer and baseball coaching, and Board Member, VP of Equipment, for the Santa Fe High School Band, repairing and hauling equipment to competitions. I have seen first hand the benefits of arts and recreation for our children, learning the discipline of their chosen activity and forming lifelong friendships. I am not running for a "job", I have a job that allows me the flexiblity to see firsthand what is needed at our schools. I will be able to visit our schools to ask students and their parents, the teachers and the administrators what the School Board can do to make our schools great. I am not running as a Republican or Democrat, this is a Non-partisan election, and I want it to be about our kids, not what party I belong to. We need to mobilize as parents for our students, keep the arts in the schools, and have a voice of reason to get the money to the schools where it belongs.
